This is a basic guide to jewellery care.

Examine your jewellery regularly to make sure the settings are snug and the clasps and joinings are secure. If hit against a hard surface or snagged on clothing, settings may loosen, risking the loss of a stone or piece of the jewellery.

Avoid exposing jewellery to chemicals and acids such as household chemicals, perfume, cometics and hair spray as the products will quickly cause the jewellery to disintegrate and discolour. Sterling silver tarnishes rapidly when exposed to salty air and sulphur, such as rubber gloves and certain papers. So always store silver jewellery in an airtight container or bag. To remove any tarnish, use a non-abrasive silver polish.

Storage is also important. At the time of purchase, your goods are packaged in a protective box. Between wearings, we recommend that you place the jewellery back into its original case or another suitably lined box. Do not store your jewellery in direct sunlight or other extreme temperatures as this may damage your jewellery.

Take care to protect your jewellery from impact against hard surfaces and avoid contact with abrasive surfaces. Gemstones can scratch other gemstones and wear away at precious metals. Therefore, avoid stacking those rings and bracelets that would be vulnerable to such abrasion.

If dust settles between the stones and beads, carefully rinse the jewellery in lukewarm water and use a soft cloth to pat dry.

We suggest that you avoid wearing your jewellery during activity that would expose it to risks including showering or exercising.

If you take the time to care for your jewellery it should last longer than a lifetime. So take care and enjoy.
